Even the most experienced virtual care provider can become overwhelmed at times, considering the different screens, functions, and tools they may need to utilize in order to conduct their telemedicine visits.
With that in mind, we've put together a few optional components that can be used to minimize distractions and bring patient interaction directly into focus.
The Telemedicine Sidebar
The Telemedicine Sidebar is an optional component that providers can install in their Google Chrome browser to view and launch their video visits from any web-based EHR or website. It's lightweight and easy to use, saving you the time and hassle of switching between multiple tabs or windows.
This browser extension is easy to install, simply click the link here - DOWNLOAD LINK - and then click "Add to Chrome". You'll see a new Chiron Health logo in your extensions and can click logo to add the sidebar to any webpage you visit. The sidebar will also automatically appear on some popular web-based EHRs, no extra clicks needed.
|Note: To uninstall this extension, you can right-click the Chiron Health logo in your extensions are and then "remove from Chrome". You can also click the download link again and then "Remove from Chrome" on the installation page.|
Appointments scheduled via the Chiron Health website or synced over via an EHR integration will appear in the provider's sidebar automatically, allowing them to view the patient's status and launch a visit.
You can access many of the administrative functions of the Chiron Health platform by clicking the "Telemedicine Menu" towards the bottom, and of course, you can reach out to our Support Team by clicking the blue "Help" button in the bottom right-hand corner.
The Video App
There is a second component that can be helpful for providers who might be managing multiple windows at once or who notate frequently during an appointment. This component is the Chiron video app for Mac or Windows, which works in conjunction with the Sidebar to provide "always on top" functionality. This ensures the video window - and the patient's presentation - always stay at the forefront of your display.
To install this component, you'll need to be running Windows 10+ or Mac OS Big Sur+ and the latest version of Google Chrome. The video app can be installed by clicking the Telemedicine menu in the Sidebar, then clicking the "Download Video app" button, and finally the Download button appropriate for your device. Once installed, go ahead and click the "I've installed it!" button to complete this process.
|Note: Once installed, the video application will engage automatically when you launch visits from the Telemedicine Sidebar. There's no need to open the app directly.|
To uninstall the video app on your device, follow the same procedures as you would to remove any normal desktop application. For more specific uninstallation directions, please see HERE for Windows and HERE for Mac OS.
